The Requirements

To be a good fit for the Manufacturing Engineer opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, as well as MS Office applications; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Experience in:
    • CNC machining environments.
    • Stainless steel machining and manufacturing.
    • New product development and launch.
  • A team-player approach and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to achieve goals with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to manage multiple activities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will join a team that includes two other Manufacturing Engineers. The team supports machining and assembly processes for a variety of product lines, including pumps, valves, homogenizers and others. You'll interact with programmers, production staff, design engineers and with equipment operators. A primary focus will be driving continuous improvement, and you also will be involved with new product development, capital equipment justifications, and more.

More specifically, you will:
  • Plan, design and coordinate manufacturing processes in industrial plant.
  • Develop, evaluate and improves manufacturing methods utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Determine facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of space requirements, equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
  • Resolve technical problems and recommend production improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
  • Evaluate worker productivity and recommend improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.
  • Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output, and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Establish accident prevention measures, and plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of the production operation.
