More specifically, you will:
  • Perform engineering calculations, design, and analysis as required to ensure and maintain the structural and mechanical integrity of new and existing products.
  • Develop product design, whether new and expansionary, incremental, or for maintenance. This will include analyzing research data and proposed product specifications to determine the feasibility of product proposal.
  • Review customer specifications and inquire to determine correct application of product and to resolve any conflicts or ambiguities.

What's in It for You

Work with the best
You will join what is, in effect, SPX Flow's engineering center for energy industry valve products. M & J Valve has captured a leadership position in the industry by offering a wide variety of flow control solutions, backed by technical know-how and extensive field experience.

Even if you have expertise in oil & gas valve technologies, you are bound to learn new things, given the diversity of applications and customers and the ongoing evolution of the industry.

Career stability
People generally find this role rewarding and fulfilling for years, as demonstrated by the long tenure of other Engineers. At the same time, depending on our needs and your performance, you might set your sights on other opportunities. Advancement may require relocation.

Excellent compensation
In addition to competitive base + incentive plan, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental choices with costs shared by the employee and SPX FLOW; an employee-paid vision plan; a retirement savings plan with company match; paid time off; and more. Keys to Success

This is an ideal role for a professional who truly loves pure engineering and enjoys taking on a steady stream of engaging challenges. If you're coming from a large organization you may be siloed, supporting only one or two components. In this position, however, you will support entire products. In addition to becoming familiar with the products themselves, you should also develop an understanding of the systems into which the products are integrated, and how production conditions vary from one application to another.

The role involves plenty of individual responsibilities, but you'll also need the interpersonal skills to collaborate with others, including customers, sales, manufacturing and other stakeholders. For the most part, you'll interact with technically savvy people, but in some cases, you will need to be able to translate technical concepts into language that non-technical people can understand. You will be responsible for supporting customer satisfaction and loyalty.

In addition, in order to be an outstanding Design Engineer, you will:
  • Remain flexible and adaptable as priorities shift.
  • Bring a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Keep a constant eye out for ways to improve processes and products.
  • Take a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Pay close attention to the details while also grasping the bigger picture.
  • Hold yourself and others to high standards.
