The Requirements

- 2-5 years of experience working with customers on technical applications, ideally in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Knowledge of API610 and API674 pump specifications and other API industry specifications. Quick question for you - click here
- Familiarity with the application and packaging of these pump types within process systems.
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications.
- Strong PC skills, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and computer system adaptability.

The Role
Overview OverviewReporting to the Tendering Manager, OE Sales, Americas, as Applications Engineer, you will take ownership of a key technical position and support local area Sales Managers by providing accurate and complete product proposal submissions (RFPs). You'll review and evaluate customers' and prospects' technical specifications, then consider our products (size of the motor, cost, equipment/system options, etc.) in order to generate competitive pump and pump system proposals. Role Details
You will join a team including several other Applications Engineers supporting Sales. Daily/weekly actions will include interpreting customer specifications, coordinating with product management and our manufacturing facilities, proposal follow-up and occasional customer visits. Your activity will be focused on work in the SPX Flow Industrial and Energy markets and you will work closely with the SPX Flow area sales managers, our manufacturing facilities in the Americas, Canada and Europe, and our customer and sales channels, in order to provide a high level of service to meet each customer’s needs and expectations. The majority of your time will be spent on Oil & Gas customers, including up, mid and downstream clients. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing proposals following company guidelines to include specification review, obtaining sub-vendor quotations, and interpretation of customer’s expectations, coordination with product management and our manufacturing facilities in Canada and Europe.
- Coordinating the bidding activities of SPX Flow sales channels specific to the PD pump expansion initiative.
- Attending technical and commercial clarification meetings with our area sales managers and representative network, order entry initiation, production schedule review and ongoing contracts status review
- Updating and maintaining global quote management systems. Maintenance of the CRM system as it relates to this product line. Production of PD pump tendering and sales reports.
- Communicating with our customers regarding their questions via phone and written correspondence.
- Providing additional customer service in support of that provided by the area sales managers and company representatives.
- Assisting in the establishment of new effective sales channels throughout the Americas region.
- Product training to internal sales personnel and representatives.
