The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a strong fit for the Hydraulic Systems Sales Manager opportunity, you will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Fluid Power Technology; must be NFPA Certified FPS or HS

The Role

This will start out as an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Director of Sales, Americas, but as you quickly scale the learning curve and become more seasoned, we may look to you to take 1-2 direct reports under your wing, leading by example and showcasing your consultative sales expertise. You might be based out of our facility in Rockford, Illinois, but you also may work from a home office as long as you demonstrate that entrepreneurial fire to “own” your multi-state territory, traveling 50% of the time.

As you come on board, we'll look to you to quickly get up to speed with our customers, competitive landscape and products to position yourself as the SME with our distribution partners and OEMs offering consultative solutions and recommendations. Your mission is to drive sales and profitability for the Heavy Lifting Systems sales in the Americas in order to achieve overall division and corporate goals. You'll represent the full portfolio of Heavy Lifting and Positioning products within SPX Flow Hydraulic Technologies with applications in diverse industries, including Infrastructure, Mining, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and other Heavy Industrial Markets. Specifically, your responsibilities will be to:
  • Demonstrate expertise in solving customer problems relative to SPX Flow Hydraulic Technologies’ Heavy Lifting and Positioning applications.
  • Understand and develop system solutions to customer applications regarding Heavy Lifting and Positioning of large loads.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationship with key accounts.
  • Work in tandem with District and Regional Managers to achieve goals.
  • Provide on-site training and explanation of SPX Flow Hydraulic Technologies’ Heavy Lifting and Positioning products.
  • Evaluate and report on project opportunities and accounts on a regular basis.
  • Maintain excellent and up-to-date record systems for project opportunities and customer accounts using designated CRM platform.
  • Provide timely and accurate market information including information in the areas of pricing competitive activities, products, and other items necessary to the success of marketing strategies and programs.
  • Keep records and make reports in the area of activities and expenses, submitting them on a regular and timely basis.
  • Develop and recommend innovative ideas and tactics that will contribute to an increase in market share and sales.
  • Confer regularly with management on recommended sales strategies, promotions, and potential new markets.
  • Model and promote the SPX Flow leadership standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.
