The Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field

Knowledge & experience
  • 2-3 years of experience obtained through a mix of public accounting and/or industry experience; a background in manufacturing is highly preferred  Quick question for you - click here
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, financial accounting and auditing methodologies, SOX
  • Familiarity with COSO Integrated Internal Control Framework is a must
  • Experience with audit software/tools; the ideal candidate will have experience auditing in an SAP environment
  • Experience in Accounting or Operations Management with a finance focus
  • Proven project management skills

The Role

The Mission

As Senior Internal Audit Analyst, you will be responsible for planning, performing, and reporting business unit audits across the organization. Additionally, you will conduct special projects as assigned. 
 
Role Details
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, you will work with local and regional staff members, primarily to perform site audits. In the AMER region, we have multiple sites in the US, two in Canada and three in South America. Audits are performed at each site a minimum of every three years. You may also travel to other sites around the world, including 25+ manufacturing locations, branch offices, service centers and sales sites.

This is not a Sox role, another team does that, and while you may help with some external auditing, this role primarily focuses on internal audit. You may assist teams, as requested, look at EHS, Supply Chain and other departments, assist legal with an FCPA review and more. Throughout your responsibilities, you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Specifically, as part of your responsibilities you will:
  • Assist with risk assessment activities to determine upcoming site audits and projects
  • Participate and lead the planning, execution, and reporting for site audits by: 
    • Assisting the senior manager in writing audit reports
    • Discussing audit results with management
    • Making recommendations for remediation and/or improvement
  • Supervise/coach external resources during site audits
  • Identify and recommend potential areas for audit involvement that may result in cost savings or improved profit potential
  • Identify and recommend strategies to drive audit efficiency through automation, standardization and streamlining of activities
  • Assist in the testing that will be relied upon by the external auditors
