PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.

Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Provide input with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Work closely with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Confer with maintenance to develop and facilitate production and facility equipment preventative maintenance program.

Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Solid familiarity with CNC machining.
-
An understanding of Lean and Continuous improvement methodology and the ability to apply it to manufacturing processes, including product assembly, cell layouts and equipment procurement.

Familiarity with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD software.
-
The ability to work in a team environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

2+ years of related experience and/or training.
-
Knowledge of and experience with CNC machining operations.
-
Hands-on experience with metal machining and finishing processes is strongly preferred.
